Spontaneous Roadtrip: Wyoming

Disclaimer:

The following photos are not in chronological order,
and i refuse to make them follow that standard
simply because im lazy.

Enjoy

This is Wyoming. We went to Wyoming to visit a Senior Couple from our mission (fort belvoir) that we served with. They live in a sweet mountainside cabin.

This is 'Eddy.' You've probably seen pictures of her before. We were companions in Fort Belvoir for approx. 3 months. Her real name is mady, but that just gets to weird, so i will always refer to her as 'eddy.'

This is me. My name is also Madi, or Stucki. Or Madison. Its whatever. There was a Tornado warning but we escaped idaho before it ACTUALLY happened.

This is a waterfall somewhere between Rexburg Idaho and Etna Wyoming. Its called Caribou something or the other.

These are my favorite HighTops i've ever invested in and i got them from H&M for $14. I really missed hightops.

I also missed mountains.

This is the Salt River in Star Valley Wyoming, and it had a sweet reflection of the sunset/clouds in it.

This is my spirit animal.

This is definitely not our car. haha. Its the rothermels. But its really good at hiking up mountains.

This is what a firework might look like if your camera lens is not focused.

We set off fireworks because were a rad group of washington dc south missionaries.

This is my mission president (riggs) and his family. theyre good people.

This is the rothermels. They take real good care of us.

This is what idaho looks like for days.

This is what the road looks like for days.

This is a picture of Spence, somebody sent to me over the week. He is still on his mission. But only for four weeks so holler. He is a real babe.

This is what they call the 'Sand Bar' its a real great place to wear a swimsuit and be in the river.

This is a literal taco bus.

This is a sauna.

This is people from the WDCS Mission in real life.

This is the Rexburg Temple. My president always said to make sure when you go to the temple you serve the living as well as the dead. I was able to attend the temple the other day and after i was going to my locker, there was this sweet sweet old, super super old indian lady trying to find her locker and was strugglin like cray.

So i remembered that little thought, and asked her if she needed help. She didnt say ANYTHING. She just grabbed my hand and we literally attempted to unlock every single locker in the temple. She found her stuff. She was grateful, and i left feeling super ultra mega good because

SERVICE.
Service is for champs.

Longboarding down Long roads

SPENCE, again

And again

 Jumping off things

 Couch hopping

And thats the end of my spontaneous roadtrip, to WY.

later.

Pennies & Little Things

I've been really busy with the little things, piecing life together a little bit at a time.

A couple cool things that are noteworthy:

1. I got my first official Visiting Teaching assignment, whooo! Visiting Teaching is something the church does where the women in the church will have companions and share spiritual messages with other sisters in their congregation to make sure everyone is doing well and its a great way to provide and accept service from one another.

My companion is an awesome girl who was just recently baptized into the church. I'm stoked to learn how to be 'visiting teachers' together with her, and hopefully keep up our misisonary skills considering we both just went through the PMG lessons a thousand times probably. Yay for missionary work in continuation!

2. I made some sweet lake video you can check out here at this link below:

https://vimeo.com/132116168

Of course my first day back we hit up the lake, dylan was kind enough to take us all out on his boat. Weve gone out a few times and spent a lot of time in the water and eating fattening food considering the recent fourth of july holiday. I also got my hair bleached back to platinum, what of it. And best news of all, i got a job offer immediately after my homecoming talk. *godlovesme* It was much needed and i'm excited to begin working and saving and preparing for ''the next stage of life''

3.I was driving around in my dads beautiful little Volkswagen jetta the other day, by myself, might i add (weird weird weird) and i was driving past the temple and saw this cute little family out there taking pictures and had this feeling to get out and offer to take the picture for them (what the?)

so i did. i hopped out and said hello as creepy as can be, all by myself, without a nametag, or a companion, and offered service to ya know..take a family picture...in front of the temple for them. they were super grateful and i took a bunch. I began talking to them and asked them where they were from. Turns out they were all from Argentina and were just visiting family and they werent members of the church. i explained i had just served as a missionary in Washington dc and directed them to the temple visitor center. and off they went! #goodvibes

4. i got a package in the mail full of letters and pennies. it was from elder rhoton. Two years ago he said that he would ALWAYS find pennies and other such change on the ground in the city. He started collecting all the change he found in a box and said by the time he got home he would have enough to take me on a real nice date. its been two years and i got a whole box of pennies, and quarters and dimes and nickels in the mail. and dang. that box was heavy. he sure remembered. for two years!

i cant wait to have my favorite boy back home!

37 days!!

Recap Video

I've been meaning to post this recap video all week.

I am so grateful God allowed me to spend eighteen months of my life in Virginia. I am grateful for the time I was able to spend serving the Lord in the Washington DC South Mission. I truly am a missionary advocate. Eighteen months ago, i might have said otherwise.

I am grateful for the amazing individuals and familes i have met
I am grateful for the experiences i've had, the trials and also the blessings i witnessed

Mostly i am grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ. Because he is the one who brings us together. He is the reason for the joyful message of the gospel. He is the reason our missionary army is flooding the earth to share the great news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What a privledge it has been, doing just that.
I love virginia.
The people i met there will always be dear to my heart.
And i will always have two homes.
