High Expectations

Let the Gospel help you change your life

My hair is GROWING...

Hello...family

Ha! Ha!

Dang! Butterscotch Root Beer

letters :)

I Love My Daddy:)

YOU MET MY NEIGHBOR!
She is a gem. Super glad she was able to make it out to St. George safely. Hopefully you got the SD card and the little note. So weird that Sister Roper is home. and not a Sister anymore. Weird stuff.

So I'm being attacked my mosquito's out here. It's disgusting.

Also my three ring binder is FULL.  Wanna send me another one I can start and I'll send all my letters home? I'm afraid it probably won't make it through the rest of my transfers with me.

Humidity is torture.  So grateful I come to dry land.

Last preparation day we slept... like all day.
It was nice to catch up on some sleep because I'm exhausted.
This past week has been insane and we've had tons of lessons. Which is great! but tiring.

This week I learned the alphabet in sign language from D.  Along with several other words... it's been fun. D. is deaf so it's really cool having lessons with him. different. but Super cool. and I learn a lot.

Also it was
PIONEER DAY
which is
NOT
CELEBRATED
out here.

Unfortunate

I know

but in Honor of Pioneer Day... We did Family History with a recent convert in our ward and taught her how to find her family.  I showed her all of our Pioneer Heritage which was pretty sweet.

July 26th was my 11 month left mark.

uhhhh?

what.

less than a year friends. time is crashin.

I got a super sweet email from Kylie (thnx bbg) she sounds like shes having a blast.  I miss that woman! and YES we can totes move close to each other and plan our pregnancies so our kids are the same ages. I'm sooo down. hahaahha. please.

Saturday was a pretty sweet day because we had three random, unplanned lessons.
It was a miracle! Loved it.

Transfers were this week.  So we have a whole new Zone.  District.  Everything.
Sister Rossi and I are still here though in Shenandoah! So no worries (:

D. baptism is coming up on the 16th of August! So look forward to that.

Friends and Family and readers...

I'm sorry I'm such a failure at writing today!

I just wish I could explain to you all the
Wonderful,
Amazing
MIRACLES
that are happening.

The work of the Lord is Hastening and I SEE and HEAR and FEEL so much.
and I wish I could explain it all!

but lets be honest for a sec...

My brain is fried.

One thing that I did want to mention however..
Was Elder D. Todd Christoffersons talk about Divine Chastening.

haha.
this sounds harsh.

OH BE PREPARED.
but seriously.

I was thinking the other day

EVERYONE EXPECTS SO MUCH.
literally.
everyone.
they expect so much of me.
and come on,  I'm just me... right?
And you're just you.
Right?

Well.

I was reading this talk and literally the first eight words were...

HEAVENLY FATHER IS A GOD OF HIGH EXPECTATIONS

ouch. did that hit me in the gut.

but I kept reading. and it's one of my favorites. So I am  just going to air ball a couple points I read that I liked... considering I have no talent or ability to make this blog post pretty today.

- The Final Judgement isn't a sum total of GOOD or EVIL acts that we have done. It is an acknowledgment of the Final effect of our ACTS and THOUGHTS, what we have BECOME.

- We have a religious outlook that doesn't just make us feel good about ourselves,
but it CHANGES LIVES

-Accept, and Seek Correction

- Paul said "for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth." -Hebrews 12

- though it is difficult to endure we should rejoice in the fact that God considers us worth the time and trouble to correct

- Divine chastening
1. persuades us to repent
2. refines us
3. redirects our course to Gods better path

- Faith is immeasurably strengthened by experience.
We are able to enjoy a special bond we build with our trust in the Lord.

- Thank you for cutting me down enough to hurt me. -Hugh B Brown Gardener story

- If we resist correction others may discontinue it.

If we fail to act on correction from a loving God, he too will desist.
and my favorite,

..to pick up where I began..

ALL OF US CAN MEET HIGH EXPECTATIONS

32 Yea, come‍ unto Christ, and be perfected‍ in him, and deny‍ yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love‍ God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect‍ in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
(Moroni 10:32)

People EXPECT a lot

God EXPECTS a lot

but fortunately there is a way to meet high expectations.

I'll be honest some days I'm burnt out and at my end... but somehow I'm able to keep going.
Somehow each of us are able to keep going.

I'm pretty positive it's not just because of luck.

The Gospel can do amazing things in our lives if we let it.

So that's my challenge for you..

...to let it.
I love you all.
Sorry for the confusing jumps in this post.
I'll try to be more articulate next week? thnx. love you guys
